I searched up “Minecraft animation maker” on Google in hopes of finding a software suitable for Minecraft animation making. Then, my friend Robotala00 (also known as “Laser Pistol (lego marshmallow)” on Google+ recommended me to try a program called “Mine-imator”. He said it was very easy to make an animation with it, so I was very interested. I went to the Mine-imator website and downloaded it right away.īack then, Mine-imator was still in 0.6.2 and was very simple. It had no shading and still had very limited capabilities, unlike today. Back then, my walk cycle was something like this video: I followed tutorials from a guy called skiedude on YouTube. Wait for it to go for once and it will be smooth on the second cycle.Įven after following the tutorials, I sucked real bad at the program, so I quit for a while. It wasn’t until 1.0.0 came out that I was once again interested in the program. From what I’ve seen, it has much better shading, particles, and the 5 minute limit is taken down as well. The walk cycle is still very bad, like the one pictured above. So I stopped doing Mine-imator for about… I dunno, 4 months? I was a very lazy person back then, so I didn’t work much at all. And the best animation I made (which will get an F- from everyone in the Forums) was an Ultraman fight.Īfter all those months, 1.0.5 came out. I tried to do a walk cycle again, but it was no different. I made a walk cycle that was better, but very bad nonetheless. Then, something in the web caught my eye. There were all sorts of rigs for different programs, but I didn’t know Mine-imator had rigs! This was very exciting for me, and I tried them all out. There were absolutely lame rigs like face rigs that had only movable eyes, and 3D swords which you can’t tell the difference from normal Mine-imator swords. There were also awesome riggers like SKIBBZ or BloxTheRigger. The first rig I downloaded was a 3D Maneuver Gear rig that was based on the Attack on Titan anime series. It wasn’t until early 2016 that I was interested in actually MAKING one. It was an SCP-682 rig based on the creature from the SCP Foundation.
Someone said to me it looked like I was trained in rigging, even though it was my first. I was very happy to find something I was good at. I kept rigging and rigging, until just yesterday, I finished my work.
